CD Baby

Tracy joined CD Baby in 2010 as Chief Operating Officer and became CEO in May of 2012. He has led the company during a period of rapid growth, focusing on rolling out new services that enable artists to self-manage their music careers, make money from their music and communicate directly with their fans.

CD Baby distributes more than 7.5 million songs for over 500,000 artists, offering a DIY platform for everything from physical CD distribution, to downloads and streams to tools for effective social media promotion on platforms like Instagram and Facebook. CD Baby launched its social promotion platform in 2016 and relaunched to CD Baby artists in 2017.

Artists using the CD Baby platform have earned over $600 million since the company’s founding.

In 2012 CD Baby launched its Sync and YouTube platform, which now represents 4 million songs and has paid out more than $10 million to artists. In 2013 CD Baby launched its global publishing administration platform for independent songwriters, CD Baby Pro, which now represents 750,000 compositions from over 100,000 songwriters in more than 30 countries and is administering millions of dollars in publishing royalties annually.

Tracy holds an MBA in Finance and Information Systems from Indiana University and a BA from The University of Texas at Austin. He previously held executive positions including Intel and VersaLogic.
