Theja Meru is the Chairman of the Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA) Government of Nagaland and leads the music and arts mission of the state of Nagaland in India.
He is also a musician and show director and has curated various events including the opening and closing ceremony of the Hornbill Festival – one of India’s biggest cultural Festivals.
He also heads India’s biggest Music Festival call the Hornbill Music Festival which is celebrating its 24th anniversary this year in December.
Theja Meru is also the founder of the Handshake Concert which has travelled to 10 countries.
He is an alumni of the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) USA and is a recipient of the Governor Award for Excellence in Music.
Theja Meru was also instrumental in the formation of the Nagaland Folkloric Group which performed at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo during the fringe festival in Scotland in 2014.
