SINGER, VOCAL ARRANGER, CONDUCTOR
Arjun Chandy is a singer, arranger, studio vocalist, and conductor from Dallas, TX. His musical experiences are rooted in Carnatic and Hindustani music, which after giving his first concert at the age of 4, he studied and performed the music for over 20 years. Chandy studied western classical and jazz music at the renowned University of North Texas, which has produced standout artists such as Grammy winners Norah Jones, Don Henley (founding member of The Eagles), and the band Snarky Puppy. Apart from Indian Classical music, Arjun spent many years soloing as a jazz vocalist performing both with jazz combos and big bands.
In January 2014, Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman specially commissioned Arjun to write arrangements for and conducting a vocal group, NAFS, and the group was launched in early 2015. Chandy currently works at Rahman’s studio Panchatan, where he works as an arranger, vocal supervisor, and singer. In addition, he has sung songs for Rahman, including “Whispers of the Mind” from the movie Mohenjo Daro, “24 Karat” from 24, “Jee Lein” from OK Jaanu, and the hit song “Azhagiye” from Mani Ratnam’s Kaatru Veliyedai which stayed no.1 on the charts for several weeks.VIEW ALL SPEAKERS
